Reflection

In graphic design class we had to create an Extraordinary Movie Poster. I had to choose from a bunch of papers that had random everyday objects in them. I had electrical outlet. When I thought of electrical outlet I though of a huge caldron and guy falling into it getting electrocuted.
I focused on a horror 3D cartoon movie. I have added a caldron, an electrical outlet, a huge bloody room, and a boy falling towards the caldron. I used blending options to add shadowing to my title and tagline.
The mood I’m trying to communicate through the movie poster is a thriller/shocker/horror movie. I tried to figure out how to make an electrical outlet important in this movie and the only one I thought of was getting shocked to death, so that’s how the idea of a caldron came about. My poster captures the people’s attention because it’s a 3D horror film that will have you on the edge of your seat with “shocking” twists.
Yes, I think I was successful in my creation of the movie poster because I made an object so useless, important in this poster. An area I wish I could improve on is the images. An electrical outlet in a horror movie is kind of hard to make and having more important images makes it better.
